Resumo: The new models of distribution concession contracts brought news to electric power concessionaires. By linking the renewal of concessions to the quality of service, in the midst of a period of national financial crisis, the granting authority imposed on the distribution agents the task of setting the planning with a minimum margin of error, considering the possibility of expiration of the contracts. In this way, without major investments, the maintenance of the distribution system becomes the main target in the search for the continuity of services and contracts, especially in concessionaires whose capital is public. The quality of the service in the distribution of electric energy is measured through continuity indicators, which analyze the duration and the frequency of the faults, these being the SAIDI and SAIFI, regulated in Brazil, by ANEEL. Through the analysis of real data of an energy distribution company, the hierarchical techniques of the maintenance used historically are compared, and with the results will be proposed a new form of hierarchization of the maintenance of the distribution system, using Artificial Neural Networks. The model predicts the probability of failures in the distribution system in regions covered by distribution transformers and disconnecting switches. This is a proposed model for hierarchy of maintenance in the distribution system aiming at the improvement of the indicators of continuity, SAIDI and SAIFI.
