Resumo: | Cinnamomun zeylanicum Blume known as cinnamon and belongs to the Lauraceae family, is used in folk medicine for inflammation, rheumatism, skin infections, headache, blood purifying and soothing. The objective of this study was to determine the physical-chemical parameters of quality of vegetable drug; identifying chemical compounds secondary metabolism; develop and characterize cream-gel formulation containing the extract in different concentrations and investigate antimicrobial antioxidant activity, antioxidant and antigenotoxic the extract of cinnamon leaves, in addition to analyzing the anti-inflammatory activity by evaluating the contact dermatitis in vivo in cream-gel formulation containing the extract of this species. In the physical-chemical characterization through pharmacopoeia tests was used to dry vegetable drug cinnamon leaves, noting that there was no significant variation of the samples. In hydroethanolic extract 70% (EB) of C. zeylanicum sheets verified the presence alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and coumarins. For spectroscopic assay were determined polyphenols, flavonoids and tannins in EB. C. zeylanicum showed qualitative antioxidant potential by CCD with EC50 and AAI value 12,88μg / mL and 15.91% by DPPH method. The antimicrobial activity against E.coli, K. pneumonia, S. aureus and P. aeruginosa by the microdilution broth method and analyzed antigenotoxic activity in cultured human leukocytes test for viability and cell proliferation, comet assay, and micronucleus frequencies. Concentrations CzE1 / mL and CzE10 / mL extract reversed the genotoxic damage caused by hydrogen peroxide. The hydroxycoumarin and cinnamaldehyde were identified by HPLC respectively. The cream gel containing a concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% extract had pH values (6.0-6.5), organoleptic properties, viscosity and spreadability in accordance with the recommendations for topical application. The cream-gel 5% and 10% had anti-inflammatory activity in contact dermatitis evaluated in vivo by contact dermatitis induction model. The physical-chemical parameters established for C. zeylanicum enable quality control of drugs and extract showed antioxidant activity, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antigenotoxic. |
