Resumo: | This work presents a study about education and citizenship, and about the relation established by the schooling practices in order to build a school model in which the citizen s formation is possible. Education has experienced alternative methods of living in society and developing imbricate in a content that is self-determined and influences educative and social actions. In this perspective, this research has as main focus to analyze the experience of the program Escola aberta para a cidadania which is a Brazilian public policy that aims to shrink down the schooling violence and to build citizens, this program was elaborated by UNESCO and is applied by the state, the program offers workshops at weekends to the community that leaves around the school, and uses the vacant school s space. The main purpose of this work was to get know the program and to understand which contributions to the educative actions and to the local community, verifying the advances, the difficulties and the future expectations. This research s methodology was case study and the main tool for that was Oral History, in its Thematic Oral History modality. The main authors that based the building of this text were SAVIANI, PINSKY, FREIRE, FERREIRA, CORRÊA, CARVALHO, GADOTTI E MORIN. This study allows to think about the concepts of citizenship and education as meanings imbricate and constantly rebuilt due to the complexity that they involve, in order to develop effectively the subjects with more democratic profiles that should transform the social relations to more fair and solidarity ones. The purpose of considering the comprehension about citizenship and education as a support to the understanding of the social structures was reached as it strengthened the deep hope which citizens can work, live, live with, and be happy with the constant construction of solidary and communitarian relationships that bring to the world the human kindness. |
