Resumo: | The growing demand for food in the world presents as the main alternative the need to increase the productivity of agricultural crops, where the soybean crop (Glycine max (L.) Merril), has a central role. Knowing the potential productivities, productivity gaps and causes of lost productivity allows directing actions by farmers, extension workers, technicians and research. In the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the expansion of the crop has been taking place in the southern half of the state, a region traditionally producing irrigated rice with characteristics of soil and management quite different from the northern half of the state. The objective of this project was to determine the potential and productivity gaps of soybean cultivated in rotation with irrigated rice. Potential yields were estimated by mathematical model, experimentally achievable yields were defined by a network of experiments conducted in recent years and a survey of data from farmers' crops allowed to define potentials, existing gaps and possible causes of lost productivity in this important agricultural production environment from the country. |
