This research treats of the integration process in the South America. In particular, it analyzes the effects of the changing ideological perspective adopted by the Brazilian government - namely, from developmental one, to (neo) liberal one - in the Sarney, Collor, Franco e Cardoso administrations. The questioning claims the reflection with respect to a possible change of integrationist perspective in relation to the metamorphosis experienced by the Brazilian government - before developmentalism one, after (neo) liberalism one. With the use of salient features of the historical method and regular literature connected to the theme, concepts and their definitions are mobilized for clarity of these crucial moments of the processes of (re)democratization of this part of Latin America.
