Resumo: Sustainable business model innovation is seen as a key factor for competitive advantage and corporate sustainability. However, there is a need for a more comprehensive understanding of the drivers that promote the design, innovation, dissemination and adoption of sustainable business models. In this sense, the dynamic capabilities literature can be an alternative for understanding the internal drivers of business model innovation. Considering this scenario, this study aimed to analyze the association between dynamic capabilities and the innovation of sustainable business models of new entrants to the Brazilian logistics sector. To achieve this goal, a qualitative approach was used through a multiple case study, operationalized through semi-structured interviews and secondary data analysis. Four Brazilian startups with activities related to logistics participated in the study, located in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Rondônia. To reach the proposed general objective, initially, this study attempted to analyze the dynamic capabilities of the investigated organizations. Next, innovations in sustainable business models adopted by the companies participating in the study were explored. Afterwards, the associations between the two concepts previously identified were analyzed. On the one hand, the results found allowed to identify evidence related to different types of innovations in sustainable business models and different activities related to the three dynamic capacities surveyed. On the other hand, the results confirm that dynamic capabilities can be considered internal drivers that push the innovation of sustainable business models, from their conception to their alteration or dissemination.
