Resumo: | This paper proposes the use of a frequency domain technique to obtain the transient recovery voltage in high voltage circuit breakers. Traditional methods for analyzing circuit breaker transient recovery voltage are based on time-domain simulations. The complexity of the study and the large number of devices that need to be analyzed require methods that demand less computational effort while maintaining an acceptable level of accuracy. These simulations require significant attention from the operator due to the large number of devices and the lengthy processing times. The proposed method uses the equivalent impedance of the system and the short-circuit current that the circuit breaker will interrupt, both in the frequency domain. The transient recovery voltage is calculated from these two elements and converted to the time domain. The results were presented considering three electrical system topologies and compared to time-domain results. The method presented in this paper may be an alternative to traditional transient recovery voltage calculation techniques, reducing system complexity and increasing processing speed. |
