Resumo: | The objective of this work was to analyze the effect of respiratory muscle exercise by stimulating the flow in the laryngeal elevation of normal individuals. For this, a prospective and longitudinal study was carried out. Participants were 29 subjects, eight men and 21 women, aged between 21 and 30 years (mean of 21.06 years). Respiratory exercise was performed using the respirator to flow, for seven consecutive days. Tests of spirometry, manovacuometry and videofluoroscopy were performed before and after respiratory exercise. Blind evaluators performed the videofluoroscopy analysis, with specific protocol (analysis of temporal, visuo-spatial and visuoperceptual variables). Statistics with Kappa Test, Shapiro-Wilk, Student's t test, Wilxocon test and Anova test (significance of 5%). The study showed that male subjects had a larger laryngeal excursion. In addition, the greater the height of the subject, the greater the laryngeal excursion. The hyoid bone at rest and maximal elevation, pre-muscular respiratory exercise, was in a lowered position in relation to its position in the post exercise period. It is concluded that the laryngeal excursion is directly proportional to the height of the subjects. Respiratory muscle exercise with the respiratory inspiratory flow may influence the position of the hyoid bone. |
