Resumo: | Today the education of deaf people develops from the visual/spatial perspective, with the purpose of providing access to concepts/contents in the Brazilian Sign Language, taking care to respect the autonomy of this language and to structure an educational plan without interfering in the psychosocial experience. Having as constant goals the bilingual school educational proposal: recognition of the deaf person within the deaf community itself, the assured right to acquire sign language as a first language; the use of sign language in school, ensuring its cognitive development and the teaching of general knowledge; and teaching the oral / auditory language as a second language. In this contexto, the present study objective to investigate if and how high school deaf students from a bilingual state school in Santa Maria/RS understand and mobilize registers of semiotic representation in a sequence of tasks involving part-whole, measure and operator interpretations. of rational numbers using tangram. For this purpose, it is based on the interpretations of rational numbers (part-whole, measure and operator), according to Lamon (2007; 2012), and on the registers of semiotic representation, under the optics of Duval (2003; 2009; 2011; 2012a; 2012b). This research is characterized as a qualitative case study (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986; YIN, 2005). The approach to the research field occurred through classroom observations, a semi-structured questionnaire and an Exploratory Task. Data production involved the elaboration, dynamization, translation of utterances into Brazilian Sign Language and analysis of four tasks, that made tangram as means of promotes the mobilization of the figural register. As a result has the understanding of the part-whole interpretation, in partitioning and recognizing rational numbers in the fractional representation associated with the pieces areas of the tangram manipulable material, having as a unit a square compused of all pieces of it. Concerning the measured interpretation it turns out assimilation in one-dimensional space, in understanding rational numbers corresponding to the values of the approached areas as distance from a point to the origin on the numerical straight, and in the two-dimensional, in associating the measure of the area of geometric figures. As for operator interpretation it is concludes understanding through the reducing the areas of square geometrical figures, when making successive reductions involving rational numbers in the percentage and decimal numerical representation. In relation to the mobilized registers mostly one has the symbolic register in the fractional numerical representation along with the figurative registers in the iconic representation, this stand out the figurative treatments. Other registers also mobilized refer to the figural in the geometric representation and the symbolic in the decimal and percentage numerical representation. Conclused concerning the apprehensions the mobilization, mainly, of the operative in the dynamization of the task sequence, with emphasis on the merological modifications directly related to the part-whole interpretation, and the optics linked to the operator interpretation. |
