Resumo: In the geomorphological studies, the relief is one of the main elements to understanding the interrelationships between physical aspects(lithology, soils, vegetation, hydrography, climate, etc.) and activities of humans. For the proposal of to understand the interfaces of physical environment, it's used several methods, among which can be highlight the geomorphological mapping, which serves as a tool for good planning. This work brings the geomorphological classification of Martinho da Serra city, RS, located between the geographical coordinates 29° 20° and 29° 36° south latitude and 53° 41° and 53° 05° West longitude, occupying approximately 67685.07 hectares, proposing analysis of the different organization patterns of the landscape and their potential, seeking the relation between the forms of relief and the areas where the agata and the amethyst appear. It's having as a final product the geomorphological map of the city on the scale of 1:50,000, using the thematic maps which one can help: Drainage system, Hypsometry, Slope and Soils. In order to get the cartographic representation of phenomenons has been used the ArcView 9.2 and Idrisi for Windows software and for geomorphological phenomenons which has caused the landscape organization at the local of the study. The geomorphological map will can be used and applied on the different sectors of human activities, especially the planning of the environment, showing the risks areas, the protected areas and other one.
