Resumo: The expansion of activities to architecture in recent years has led architects to an increase in demand, creating greater versatility and productivity so that they can deliver their products with quality. To help with this task, the adoption of models for the systematization of design processes becomes a natural way to represent such objectives, since it allows, in addition to rationalization, greater control of both the product generated and the process for its elaboration. In this context, this research presents the systematization of the design process for a singlefamily residence, through process mapping, highlighting the phases and activities required in each of them to that the expected results can be achieved. In addition to mapping, the systematization presents contributions through supporting documents in order to help the architect in the points considered most relevant in the process. For the basis of this study, a literature review was carried out on the process of designing buildings, focusing on models proposed by several authors over the last decades, directing the architectural design of single-family residences, which was deepened based on three references main ones: NBR 16636: 2017 – Elaboration and development of specialized technical services for architectural and urban projects, the Manual of Scope of Projects and Services of Architecture and Urbanism of the Brazilian Association of Architectural Offices, and the Work Plan of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), who subsidized the mapping of activities in the design process. In this way, it is expected to contribute to qualifying the professional practice of architects in the area of single-family residence projects, providing a tool for organizing the workflow.
