Testes de vigor alternativos em sementes de arroz e sua correlação com a emergência de plântulas em campo

The objective of this work was to evaluate alternative tests in the function of stratifying rice seeds lots by vigor, and to determine its correlation with the seedling emergency in field. Five seed lots of cv rice IRGA 417 were used, which were submitted to strictu sensu vigor evaluation tests to evaluate the medium time of germination and the index; the modified accelerated aging process; precocity of emission of primary root and hydration curve and correlated with the emergency in field, where an evaluation was accomplished on the 21 days after the emergency, and by measuring the length of the aerial part, dry mass and fresh mass. The results indicated that the germination index determined by the test of Strictu sensu was capable of stratifying lots of rice seeds, which present a correlation with the emergency, and with the test of accelerated aging process with saline solution in the two analyzed periods. The precocity of emission of primary root and the test of imbibition separate lots in relation to vigor when there is a great difference in physiologic quality.
