Resumo: | Overhead distribution systems are constantly exposed to external agents that may negatively influence their operation. In this sense, protection in distribution plays an essential role in maintaining the correct functioning of the network, protecting it’s equipment and maintaining the continuity of service for consumers. In projects related to protection, a large portion of the time is dedicated to coordination and selectivity studies among protection devices, due to the importance and complexity of this subject. Usually, the solution reached by the protection study requires graphical analysis, which is a time consuming job. Thus, this dissertation aims to propose an index to evaluate the coordination and selectivity of protection schemes applied to distribution networks, aiming to facilitate protection projects. The methodology is presented and discussed considering the different protection devices found in the distribution system. For the calculation of the index, a quantification of coordination and selectivity is performed and with this quantification being performed computationally, it becomes simpler and faster to compare different protection schemes, according to the cases studied and discussed in this work. |
