This Work of Final Conclusion aims to present a pedagogical proposal to the work with the reading and comprehension of the textual genre strip. For this end it was created a workshop and two video lessons with focus on the development of a reading and comprehension of this genre specifically for students in 9th grade of Elementary School. In order to reach this purpose, it was put in evidence the script break mechanism or linearity, so common to these texts and responsible for the construction of humor present in this genre. As theoretical apparatus, designs were used on the textual and / or gender and reading grounded in the postulates of Bakhtin (1997), Marcuschi (1996, 2008), Koch (2002), Antunes (2003), Leffa (1996), among others, in addition to the conceptions and orientatios for the maternal language teaching proposed by PCNs (3rd and 4th cycles of elementary school).
