Small rural communities have rich experiences in everyday life . People commonly create roots and identify with the territory where they were born , live, work , have families or friends . The inhabitants of a village share habits , keep symbols , perceptions and representations which are experienced in daily life and in meeting places such as church, school , square and traditional festivals . The geography is also dedicated to the study of the meaning of places, seeking out how individuals perceive and feel the places where they live and build . Selected the Sape village, located in the Northwest portion of the city of Itaporanga D.Ajuda , as the object of our analysis . The research aimed to know closely by the students and their families , the construction of the village socioespacialidade Sape . Specific project objectives were contextualize the construction of the village thatch ; identify the perception of the population born , created and residing in the territory ; verify the knowledge and recognition of the population over the territory ; ascertain the population demonstrates that feelings about the city ; analyze the social construction territory and population perspectives on the future of the territory . The approach is based on humanistic and cultural perspective of geography , based on the philosophies of meaning , especially phenomenology and existentialism . The method used was qualitative , which seeks to interpret, describe the complexity of human actions , enabling the direct and prolonged contact between the researcher and the research object . Through methodological tools such as observation , interviews , mental maps and photographic survey , we seek to uncover the perceptions of the population born , created and residing in the territory . Mental maps and interviews were applied to 60 students from the 6th and 7th year of elementary school of Prof. Nilson Barreto Socorro , resident in the village , and 22 families of these students . The Sape proved a hybrid territory composed of social actors interacting socioespacialmente the build and rebuild with multiple territories . The inhabitants , even in the face of technological advances and the current mobility , nourish feelings for him topophilia and belonging , preserving traditions and anchoring geossimbolos . |
