Resumo: It is not exclusive to Brazil, but Physics Teaching has been experiencing slight methodological changes. This study aimed to approach the teaching of Physics in the transversal themes inherent in the discipline. The objective was to analyze the evolution of learning concepts related to the law of inertia in their second grade of high school in a public school, from the approach to the (im) expertise of (dis) use car rear seat belt and consequences. A survey was conducted through an exploratory design, descriptive, bibliographic and field with qualitative and quantitative approach. The data collection was carried out by applying a semi-structured questionnaire (pre and post-test), containing ten questions, whose purpose was to observe the preconceptions of these students about the law of inertia, traffic and safety. Initially, a lecture given by a professor of physics at the Federal University of Sergipe and another one with a team of SAMU. Then, students were encouraged to read and analyze scientific articles, to assist in the grounds of production of a scientific show. After the public presentation of the show, a post-test was applied, the analysis of which allowed the visualization of the evolution of students´ answers to the questionnaire. The results showed that the actions and discussions enabled a more meaningful learning about the Law of Inertia, and allows a greater awareness of the importance of seat belt use.
