Resumo: The thesis presents an investigation into the school model known as "colégio de aplicação," focusing specifically on the Colégio de Aplicação of the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and covering the period from 1959 to 1981. The guiding questions of the research are: what were the educational ideas and projects related to the emergence of the school model of colégios de aplicação in Brazil? What were the attributes and functions of the colégios de aplicação in teacher training? How did the relationships between the Faculty of Education and the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS function, and what were their roles in the development of internship practice? How were integrated internships conducted at the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS? The overall objective is to analyze the school model known as colégio de aplicação and its configuration at the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS from 1959 to 1981. The specific objectives include: understanding the educational debates surrounding the creation of "ginásios de aplicação" in philosophy faculties, analyzing the relationship between the "colégio de aplicação" project and the discussions on teacher training for secondary education, identifying the characteristics and redefinitions of colégios de aplicação, pointing out the pedagogical principles and curricular proposals of the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS, and analyzing the integrated internship practices of the Faculty of Education at the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS and their pedagogical actions. The research is grounded in the perspective of Cultural History, examining human actions, transformations, and continuities over a specific period. The methods of analysis consider assumptions from Pierre Bourdieu's sociology of education, such as the concept of cultural capital, to understand the importance of the prestige of a school linked to a federal university and the symbolic constructions within the school space. Sources were gathered from the archives of the Center for Research, Documentation, and Memory of the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS (CEMDAP), Central Archive - UFS, Archive of the Center for Education and Human Sciences of UFS (CECH), and the Program for Studies and Documentation of Education and Society (PROEDES - UFRJ). Digital archives from the Anísio Teixeira National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP) and the Public Domain website, among others, were also consulted. The colégios de aplicação were created as a special type of school, initially linked to philosophy faculties, with the primary objective of serving as a field for internships and experiments for the graduates of these faculties. The development of the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS required more direct communication with the Faculty of Education and a deep reflection to overcome challenges and redefine responsibilities in the face of new educational realities, purposes, and functions of a colégio de aplicação. The main function of the Colégio de Aplicação of UFS was to serve as a field for the internship practices of the University's graduates.
