Resumo: |
Historically, man appropriates the earth in a quest inherent in its existence and maintenance. Sometimes this relation characterizes, through the look at the phenomenon, the way in which the process of using a given landscape occurs. Thus, this work presents, as a general objective, the relationship of the population of Pitombeira District, Calçado- PE, with vegetation, as well as its practices in conservation evidence and economic potential. In order to deal with the discussion, fundamental analytical categories in the scope of Geography were discussed, as well as the reflections on the environmental issue in consonance with Humanistic Geography, guided by the perspectives of Yi-Fu-Tuan and Dardel (1953), in the understanding of reality through of the lived experience of the subject. Thus, the study assumes a cultural humanistic posture, because it deals with issues that are established from the perception of man about his environment. The method used to base this research is based on the case study method, which fits the perspective that seeks the interpretation of the world through the subject's consciousness, formulated based on their experiences. For data collection, we conducted focused interviews with a saturation sample, which showed, from the speech and direct contact with the object, the variables that fostered the subsequent analyzes. Still on the methodological paths, the technique proposed by Bardin (2011) was adopted, as a guide to the obtained data, determining the organization and the reflections about the results. In this sense, the conclusions reveal that the subjects' relationship with the vegetation is, above all, a path that is between exploration and belonging, and this has made emerge aspects that enrich the debate in the geographic field, since they characterize the realities that provide the understanding of their analytical categories. |
