This difficulty has been reflected in school evaluations and professional performance of many young people who undergo English language tests for admission to employment. These tests have issues involving spelling and text production as stages of the selection process. When the wrong spelling of the fricative / s / can also change the meaning of what is meant as sewing / cooking, pot / stag.
