Resumo: |
The discussion of equal educational opportunities as well as the democratization of access to university as a privileged locus of production and transmission of knowledge in society, brings with it the debate on the implementation of public policies and affirmative action capable of repairing socioeconomic, ethnic and interracial inequalities, among citizens. This research aims to discuss the implementation of affirmative action, more specifically, the quota system, and its relationship to pedagogical practice in the medicine course of the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), identifying possible problems and changes arising from that process, besides highlighting the perceptions of respondents, about the process of introducing quotas on UFS. To this end, were conducted 33 interviews and applied 62 questionnaires, a total sample of 95 respondents. In a world where the rights of reconciliation is a complex task, policies of recognition and redistribution must reflect the social mobilization to repair a story of suffering, injustice, violence and exclusion. However, for the affirmative action have effectiveness , one must consider the criteria of justice to ensure its legitimacy from the social body. More importantly, at the academic environment, is to food and feed back a debate that is just beginning. |
