Resumo: This dissertation intends to examine the educatives festive and religions practices at the Oratório Festivo São João Bosco in the perid 1914 to 1952, the date of its creation and transfer to the Congregação Ministras dos Enfermos de São Camilo, respectivly. The institution still in operation is located in Aracaju-Sergipe. The Oratório Festivo was gathered, instruct and to educate orphans and poor girls for the teaching of catechesis and moral values. Thus, demand to reconstitute the memory of the institution and the practices it imposed, using different sources: official and institutional documents, oral and written statements, photos, newspapers and studies related to the thematic. For that uses categories of analysis by Dominique Julia school culture, built fron the relations among students, directors, teachers and the community; the concepts of representation, awnerships by Roger Chartier; religious and habitus of Pierre Bourdieu; Maurice Halbwachs‟ memory; Norbert Elias‟ civilization, among others. Search with the results of research based on assumptions of Cultural History contribute to the studies of educational sergipana historiography regarding History of childhood and studies on Catholic and Feminine of Education in the first half of the twentieth century.
