Resumo: |
This master's thesis has the general objective of understanding the conditions and working relationships that make social workers involved in the Social Assistance Policy sick, considering the determinations of class, gender and race. For this, the research method used is historical-dialectical materialist, the type of research has a qualitative approach, exploratory in nature, aiming to get closer to the object of study; in addition to the situation analysis, the following methodological procedures were used: bibliographical, documentary and state-ofthe-art research, through the bank of theses and dissertations on the sucupira platform and institutional repositories. In this way, the specific objectives address the impacts of the ultraliberal and ultraconservative situation on the working class, unveiling the determinations of class, gender and race which permeate the work of social workers, reaffirming the Political Ethics Project and collective organization as a tool of resistance ; reflect on the illness of these professionals, addressing occupational health and safety policy and considering the impacts of the covid-19 pandemic; finally, point out coping strategies or the lack thereof, in defense of the worker's health. The research results indicate the advancement of the illness processes of social workers included in the Social Assistance Policy, with different forms of physical and especially mental illness, highlighted in the analyzed research, as a result of the deepening precariousness of conditions and relationships of work, flexibilization of labor relations, strong presence of political-partisan practices which reverberate in the practice of moral and sexual harassment, in addition to gender and race determinations in this profession composed mostly of black/black/brown women who experience inequalities gender and structural racism reflected in the accumulation of triple shifts, lower salaries compared to white men and women, precarious ways of entering the job market and access to graduation. On the other hand, there are few or no efforts on the part of managers to promote, prevent and care for the health of workers; there is a lack of acceptance of professional demands, financial investment and implementation of health care policies. Thus, although the conditions for implementing SUAS and valuing workers are formally established in PNAS, this is a reality that needs to be effectively guaranteed with regard to the development of actions for protected work with the implementation of NOB/RH-SUAS. As coping strategies, it is essential to monitor the application of NOB/RH-SUAS by the union and the CRESS/CFESS group, understanding illness and moral harassment not as an intimate issue, but a collective one; guaranteeing access to health care for workers in the face of precarious salaries and the accumulation of employment contracts and pejotization; the importance of articulating professional work with family responsibilities, as well as the nature of the work carried out with users in conditions of profound social vulnerabilities. Furthermore, confronting capitalist, chauvinist, sexist, racist systems of domination-oppression-exploitation that have historically violated female social workers and users of social services, since, from a gender perspective, social services, when professionalized, profile of the worker becomes that of the black woman and not the upper-middle class white woman, working towards charity and philanthropy. Therefore, it is essential to expand the theoretical foundations and take an in-depth look at the complexity of contemporary social reality, hence the need to prioritize continued training, assumed as the responsibility of employers and/or municipal, state and federal governments. |
