Resumo: |
The present study deals with secularism in Brazil, specifically in the municipality of Nossa Senhora do Socorro, Sergipe. Identify how the model of pluriconfessionality defined by Roberto Blancarte can fit the dynamics of laicity in Brazil and Sergipe. We will analyze the disputes in public spaces by religious in the municipal elections of 2020, as well as the way in which religious and social agents took possession of these tools as arenas of dispute in the dissemination of their ideologies, promoting access for adherence of new agents. For this, we will analyze the political speeches related to the fights for the position of major leadership of the executive power of the Municipality of Nossa Senhora do Socorro, the strategies for approaching the parties to the entities that represent the religions present in this city, especially the so-called Christian religions. To understand the approach of the political platforms and the religious leaderships of this municipality to define the representatives and how these relations are built, deconstructed and reconstructed. We will analyze the implications of the approximation/distancing or confirmation/denial discourses, registered in the social media, bills, interviews and other documents, to understand the practical actions, the symbolic material produced in these media during the electoral process and the laws created to approximate the religious agents to political militarism. In this sense, the work proposes a reflection of these productions in order to make visible the current model of secularism in this city to contribute to new reflections on the theme. |
