Resumo: The consolidation of Science Policy, Technology and Innovation (ST & I) in higher education institutions stems directly from developed countries. These areas are strategic to the country's development in the global economy and contribute to the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge. In Brazil, Law No. 10,973 / 04 seeks to maintain national objectives of increasing the STI in the country with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) as its main partner. Considering the existing culture within the HEI, where researchers believe that file patents implies the decrease in the number of scientific publications, this study aimed to verify how the dissemination of technological innovation at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) interfered in the scientific production and technological PhD researchers who have patent application filed in the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). He attempted to measure the scientific and technological productivity of the institution by means of bibliometric and patentométricos indicators, on which stood two centers of UFS’ main depositors patent the Exact Science Center and Technology (CCET) and the Biological Sciences Center and health (CCBS). The analysis of the information is derived from the aforementioned two centers and the collection site. After collecting and processing the data, it was shown that there is a correlation between the production of scientific articles and patent deposit at UFS. The results further demonstrate that the scientific productivity of PhD researchers at UFS increased after the deposit of its first patent application. Aditionally, we could still find a real significant increase in scientific and technological productions of these researchers.
