Resumo: |
Brazil is considered a mega-biodiverse country because it has a unique fauna and flora. The first population who inhabited it, has already used this wealth as an integral part of their daily practice, for their food and / or as a therapeutic means in the treatment of diseases. The study aimed to analyze the interconnections of knowledge and popular use of medicinal plants with therapeutic properties and the improvement of public health in the city of Arauá-SE. Specifically it proposed to describe the knowledge of the "natural drugs" of the rural communities on the medicinal plants used for the treatment of diseases; to list the existing plant species and the use them in rural communities in the municipality of Arauá / SE, their form of preparation, the use and way of growing and to compare them with those already established in the literature; to identify the existence of application of the use of medicinal plants in the local public health system against the relation of knowledge between "natural drugs" and health professionals; and analyze, from the perspective of the actors involved, the benefits and challenges of the dialogue between popular and scientific knowledge. In order to meet the objectives, we opted for quantitative-qualitative research with a descriptive and exploratory approach. The research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with "natural drugs" residing in four villages that are part of the area covered by the Family Health Strategy II of the municipality, as well as health professionals. The quantitative data were systematized in Microsoft Excel version 2010 computer program and are expressed in figures and tables in order to represent the information collected in the empirical field. The qualitative information was interpreted using the Collective Subject Discourse (CSD) method. It was observed that the large mint or thick basil (Plectranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng) stood out among the medicinal plants and presented greater evidence in CUP (66.6%) and also received the highest value in use. The 43 ethnoespecies identified, are distributed in exotic (39.5%), native Brazilian (32.5%) and naturalized (28%), respectively. None (Morinda citrifolia L.) and rue (Ruta graveiles L.) obtained a greater number of indications of uses (n.5), then mastruz (Dysphania ambrosioides), cinnamon (Cryptocarya subcorymbosa), picao ( Bidens pilosa L.), and the thick basil (Plectranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng) with (n.4) indications. In relation to the relative importance (RI), rue ethnospecies (Ruta graveiles L.) obtained the highest frequency (2), followed by cinnamon (Cryptocarya subcorymbosa) and thick basil (Plectranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng) with (1, 8%) which reveals a greater versatility of these ethnospecies. Regarding the research with the Community Health Agents (CHA), it was observed that although they report having knowledge about public health policies, more specifically the national policy of integrative and complementary practices, there is a superficiality in the speeches. Even so, some of these professionals (80%) are exposed to risks, use and indicate at the time of the home visit medicinal plants to the population of their micro-area that are also exposed to health problems.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |
