The present work will deal with the relation between the written and oral production of 9th grade students of the Elementary School, of the afternoon shift, of the Profª Adília de Aguiar Leite Municipal School, located in the municipality of Carmópolis / SE, regarding the 3rd person verb forms from the simple present tense. We will investigate the recurrence of the nature of omissions in the verbal flexion of this written production and how the related segments in speech are performed or not. Specifically, we will deal in writing with omissions of verb-bending nasal consonants in the third person plural simple present tense and their correlations with phonetic diphthongs or nasal trace deletion in the oral production of these students. The objective of this work is to collect data to analyze and describe how to mark the plural of third person verbs and to investigate to what extent orality may be influencing students' written production. It is intended to discuss the phonetic descriptions for these contexts under analysis, as it is also the objective of this work to make teachers wake up to the importance of reflecting on the phonetic / phonological awareness linked to writing, and, consequently, motivate the development of activities that make students realize the congruences and incongruities between speech and the notational system that is writing. The linguistic variation used between subject and third-person plural verb in Brazilian Portuguese (BP) is a phenomenon that we intend to analyze from the perspective of phonetics and phonology, without losing sight of the fact that such investigations must necessarily interface with syntax and morphology. To support our work, we will seek support from Cagliari's (2002) theoretical assumptions about the interface between Phonetics / Phonology and Morphology, Cristófaro-Silva et al. (2012), Battisti (2000) and Schwindt (2015) on the reduction of the diphthong in an unstressed position and the possible alteration of verbal flexion, as well as other authors who reflect on the nasal and the importance of phonological awareness in the acquisition of writing. From the analysis that was made we can say that this writing is influenced by orality, because the written text contains many characteristics of speech and, therefore, students use the words that are part of their lexicon and spell them in the same way as they produce in speech, without awareness and monitoring that must be done in different situations, depending on the degree of formality and the interlocutors. Therefore, we intervene in this process, through a teaching proposal entitled “The Language at Stake” which, as far as the student is concerned, has given them the opportunity to develop or deepen their phonological awareness by bridging the relationship between speech and language. writing and reflecting on the Portuguese language, more specifically on the marking of the nasal in the third person verb forms of the plural. With regard to teachers, it aims to be a tool that enables the knowledge of some phenomena present in the student's speech and the understanding of the relations between orality and the text, with a view to resolving errors in the writing of conjugated verbs. |
