This dissertation aimed to discuss the School Archives as a source of information and research. This space of institutional memory of the school, which houses in its boxes and cabinets important documents that record the administrative and educational daily life of the same and that also tells the school trajectory of students, tracing the student profile, the academic activity of the teachers there. taught, as well as through its collection allows the discovery of how the educational methodology was, this information is recorded in the books of minutes of occurrence books, class diaries, crafts, among other documents of the School Archive. Interest in School Archives as a source and research space is still recent, especially within Information Science. The predominant area of research in this informational environment is in the History of Education, with a great interest in the School Archive mainly as a memory space, educational educational heritage. The research characterized here has exploratory nature, applied character, using participant observation as a methodology, preceded by state of the art with research in bibliographic sources. Its general objective is the proposition of a product manager, the Manual of Permanent School Archive Document Management, applicable in the Sergipe State Education System, which also serves as a source and parameter for implementation in other states of the federation. And as specific objectives sought to diagnose the situation of the School Archive of the State School “General Valadão”, a centenary school of Aracaju, to establish a management model that improves the consultation, retrieval and dissemination of documentary information of its permanent documentation. The field observation found that there is no knowledge on the part of those responsible for the School Archives on the subject of archiving, the methods of archiving, conservation and preservation of this collection, as well as on the issue of document management. It was also identified the lack of identity of employees with the School File, they cannot understand the file beyond the space that houses old and outdated documents and their responsible for the activity also do not have an identity with the activity performed. As final considerations, we find that unfortunately the school archive still does not perform the social and cultural function within the school space, and the lack of preservation and organization of this type of file jeopardizes the memory of the school, the lack of a professional in the field. of documentation hinders the proper functioning and use of the school archive and the absence of a document management policy of this type of collection contributes to an accumulation of documentary mass without any criteria. |
