Resumo: |
This dissertation aimed to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy, mindfulness, self-compassion and psychological symptoms in higher education students with possible signs of dyslexia, from the perspective of Positive Psychology. To answer such objective, in the first moment, three theoretical studies were carried out to discuss the contributions of psychology and inclusive education in the field of dyslexia; as well as to reflect the possible interlocutions between self-efficacy, mindfulness and self-compassion in positive psychology in higher education, and finally, to carry out a theoretical reflection on dyslexia, inclusion and mental health in higher education. In the second moment, three articles of integrative and systematic reviews were elaborated, with the intention of analyzing empirical studies that investigate factors associated with self-efficacy, anxiety, and depression in students with dyslexia, based on PRISMA guidelines; as well as systematically reviewing publications on mindfulness-based interventions for students with dyslexia; and finally, review the scientific production, in search of gathering empirical evidence on selfcompassion in college students. Based on this construction, finally, two empirical studies were designed, aiming to track in students from a Brazilian federal university, the possible signs of dyslexia through reading history assessment; as well as a study that aimed to identify associations between self-efficacy in higher education, self-compassion, mindfulness and the occurrence of common mental disorders in college students at risk of dyslexia; and to analyze the mediating effect of these variables in this population. This study found that college students enrolled in undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Sergipe showed signs of risk for mild dyslexia. Thus, it is necessary to provide positive resources for them to face the challenges that arise in the academic path. That said, self-compassion and self-efficacy in higher education stood out. The former construct plays an important predictive role in the participants' mental health, while the latter positively influences the literacy process of these individuals. |
