This research investigates educational policy, teaching and the changes that took place during the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship, which ended up reflecting on educational policy in Sergipe, its purposes and consequences. It is delimited by the time frame covering the years 1964 and 1970. The history of Brazil between the years 1964 and 1985 was marked by a civilmilitary dictatorship, characterized by extreme authoritarianism, repression and violence. There was also the suspension of constitutional rights and police harassment. Given this political situation, there was intervention in institutions at the federal, state and municipal levels, including with regard to the educational sector. In this sense, it was also sought to understand the repressive-ideological apparatus of authoritarian governments in order to understand the forms of domination and legitimation used to contain the manifestations of oppositional teachers and students in the classroom, the deprivation of a critical and of freedom of thought. It was also sought to promote the discussion of the effects of impositions, understand the implemented practices, such as curricular changes - modification, incorporation and removal of some school subjects - governed by laws, decrees, at various educational levels and the consequences in the lives of students and educators, as well as in their training, and in a whole social sphere. The theoretical and methodological procedures adopted result from oral history, with the use of interviews, analysis of educational opinions and legislation, such as the various Federal Decrees, the Sergipana Organic Law and Resolutions, in order to collect information that would help clarify the study of question. |
