Resumo: |
There is a socio-environmental complexity in urban space marked by a growing attempt to homogenize spaces and people, resulting from the process of separation between man and nature. Within this paradigmatic context, there is Urban and Periurban Agriculture (UPA) which, with its multifunctionality and dimensionality in animal husbandry, in the cultivation of ornamental and medicinal plants, in the production, processing and marketing of food in the intra/periurban space, presents itself as a possible response to socio-environmental demands in cities. Thus, this investigation aims to understand the role and socio-environmental importance of Urban and Periurban Agriculture (UPA) and the insertion of this type of production in the Master Plan for Urban Development (MPUV) of the municipality of Aracaju as an element of resilience in the face of municipal urban areas challenges. Methodologically, this study has an applied nature as it seeks to produce useful and applicable knowledge. Therefore, it uses a survey and theoretical discussion about relevant themes for research such as nature, geographic space, city, UPA, territory, development and landscape ecology. It has a qualitative/quantitative approach with secondary data collection at IBGE, SEPLAG and INCRA. Geoprocessing is used for spatialization and production of technical cartographic products that can contribute to achieving the proposed objectives. Therefore, the study on screen becomes essential due to the need to create strategies to face the socio-environmental problems experienced by the capital of Sergipe. Since the urban territorial planning of Aracaju is aligned with a functionalist dynamic, little integrative and one-dimensional that corresponds to the interests of the capitalist mode of production. It was found that some of the results of this process are verified with the conversion of natural ecosystems into a set of buildings for housing, commerce and leisure, neglecting the areas of environmental interest foreseen in the MPUV (2000). It was observed the absence of a normative legal framework that boosts the UPA in the municipality and that directs specific areas for this modality of production. Thus, the UPA presents itself as a potential integration element that can contribute to a multiple, solidary and ecological urban planning in the municipality of Aracaju. |
