Resumo: The present study approaches the use of cinema in the educational context for an aesthetic education, considering its contribution to think about emerging issues in our time. In this sense, the research aimed to problematize the relationship between body and stigma from the film production "Precious" (2009). Methodologically, this was a qualitative study of descriptiveexploratory nature, through film analysis. Among the possibilities of analysis, we chose to use the Poetics of Cinema, proposed by Wilson Gomes, which apprehends the film as a programming that creates effects, having the analyst as a fundamental activity to transit between the fruition and the filmic text; furthermore, we considered the contributions of Jennifer Van Sijll and Marcel Martin to describe the possible strategies used to produce effects on the spectator. The analysis of the film allowed us to observe how a stigmatized young body is negatively affected in the different social contexts it passes through (family, schools, and community), strengthening prejudice, exclusion, and violence. We consider that the use of films is configured as a possibility of aesthetic education that makes us think about our ways of life and the relationships that the body and its marks establish with the world, with the other, and with ourselves, in the most varied contexts of cultural representation. In the current Brazilian social-political scenario, it is opportune and fundamental to seek ways to problematize such themes in different educational spaces, especially at school.
