Resumo: The research aims to understand the behavior of algorithms in search engine automation processes from the perspective of Information Science, using the Design Science methodological approach. The aim is to explore the functionalities of algorithms and their implications in contemporary society, aiming to identify new ideas and improve access to information. The interaction between Information Science and search algorithms is fundamental to optimize information retrieval, understand information flows and enable the production of meaning in the digital context. The research is justified by the need to explore technological advances and data availability strategies, as well as the importance of Information Science in adapting to transformations in the field of information. The methodology adopted is Design Science, which seeks to create practical solutions to the identified challenges, contributing to the development of the field of Information Science and the optimization of information search processes in the digital age. The Web Crawler developed as the resultant product of this research represents a tangible solution to the challenge of understanding web search algorithms from the perspective of Information Science (IS). Its practical application and the potential impact it holds in IS research emphasize its significant relevance and contribution to the advancement of knowledge in this field. Through this tool, it is possible to explore the functionalities of algorithms and their implications, promoting a better understanding of information flows in the digital age and facilitating access to information in a more effective and precise manner.
