Resumo: |
The digital transformation landscape revealed business models that are based on the possibilities brought by the evolution of digital technologies, such as the platform business model that progressed in the context of such transformations (GREER, 2017), being used by large organizations such as Amazon and Uber, in addition to reaching different organizational fields, including banks that, when constituting themselves as digital banks, began to use elements of the business model on a platform. The difficulty of establishing such a model (HAGIU, 2017) related to the essentiality of banking activity (FEBRABAN, 2019) led the present work to systematize the functioning of the business model and the main elements that influence the scenario of digital banks in Brazil, based on in platform models. Thus, through qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research, the strategy of multiple case studies was adopted, with the selection of three representative cases of the phenomenon, and subsequent individual and comparative analyzes of Brazilian digital banks. The theoretical survey and documental research translated the occurrences and revealed the specifics of the investigated cases, finding their adherence to the elements of the business model in platform for - the network effects, the architecture, the disruption, the monetization and the launch strategy. As a result of the analyses, a contextual framework for the formation of digital banking platforms is proposed, which includes the environments of influence that are drivers of the scenario of digital banking transformation: the technological, financial, regulatory and competitive environments. In addition to substantiating the new habits of consumption and use of technology by individuals, contributing to the understanding of the functioning of a model that caused the most significant changes ever produced in the format of banks, and that impacted the relationship of individuals and organizations with the offer and demand for financial products and services. |
