Resumo: |
The present study aims to analyze the contributions of Environmental Education and Justice in the formation of more critical citizens and practitioners of sustainability. Throughout the development of the research, it was possible to reflect on Environmental Education as a notorious social practice in the promotion of sensitization and awareness in the formation of environmental citizens. These can be understood as social actors who, with prior awareness of socio-environmental issues, consciously commit to practicing their solidarity duties to obtain an ecologically balanced environment - a fundamental right constitutionally provided. As for the approach method, the environmental hermeneutics, of qualitative nature, was used. In turn, the epistemological path of the research was the ontological one. For the foregoing, there was a survey of bibliographic collection, theoretical in nature, from the literary review of various sources, such as doctrines and legislation. We conclude that Environmental Education is fundamental in the formation of an environmental citizen committed to the practice of sustainability, both through individual attitudes and collective actions. Certainly, this can be observed through the current movements for Environmental Justice that, through persistent social claims, go through the defense of the right of current and future generations to a protected environment with health, quality of life, health, equity, collective welfare, and that enables a full sustainable development for all, based on dignity and ecosystemic resilience. |
