The public policies of professional and technological education gained a new impulse after the promulgation of the Law 11.892 in 2008. With increasing investments, it was created a network composed by Federal Institutes. Through an expansion program performed by the Ministry of Education, these institutions are, today, present in all the states, having the activity of learning, research, extension and inovation as practices. Relative to this study, it was reached results approached on the second phase of expansion of the Federal Institute of Sergipe (IFS), in which it was pursued to analyze the perfomance of academic indicators and the level of the fullfillment to the Law 11.892/2008, more specifically on the campi of Itabaiana, Estância and Nossa Senhora da Glória. The methodology adopted was emphasized on the qualitative research, in which analyzed Institutional documents, as the PDI and the reports of management, which made it possible to obtain the data of the three campi. For academic indicators, the results were compared to other three groups: brazilian average, northeast federal institutes average and the consolidated data from IFS, all of them relative to a time that goes between 2011 to 2014. So, it was eloborated a diagnosis of the current situation found on the learning units, that, although the inauguration five years ago, it showed gaps or distortions that instigated the achievement of specific action plans, with promoter elements to the management improvement, contributing, therefore, on the reactive capacity of IFS by having a levered performance. Except to the indicator Retention of the Scholar Flow, that showed a good situation, the other indexes showed critical behaviors. In relation to the requirements of legislation, it was found that postgraduate studies courses are not being offered by the campi. New researches must be promoted, mainly with the purpose of verify if the institution adopted the good practices. |
