Resumo: The present essay is the result of a proposal of mother tongue teaching for literacy and citizenship. It deals with the description of a study on the kind of audiovisual reporting to students of the 4th year of elementary school in a school in the periphery of Aracaju / SE. It is based on the analysis of the Portuguese-language textbook (adopted in the referred class) on the way in which oral textual kinds are worked, so that we can propose educational practices that complement the proposals of this pedagogical material, so common in banks of students, through the valorization of the local and immediate context of the student. For the execution of this practice, we chose to articulate the oral modality to the new digital media and to their respective textual types, through activities materialized from the production of the audiovisual genre and the use of a more elaborate language, in order to meet the specificity of the proposed communicative situation. The main objective of the work is to promote more interactive and identity literacy practices, based on the production of oral and written texts and the recognition of the different manifestations of language, with emphasis on its more formal use, so that the student recognizes himself as the protagonist of the teaching-learning process. Three didactic modules were carried out, Study of the genre audiovisual, Construction of the genre according to its oral production conditions and Culmination of the project, as directed by Lopes-Rossi (2011). We started with the choice of subjects for the composition of the reports, and later study, production and recording of the said genre for presentation to the school community. The reflections were supported by the National Curricular Parameters (NCPs), National Curricular National Basis (BNCC), as well as theoreticians such as Bakhtin (2003), Marcuschi (2003), Soares (2004), (2009), (2012), Kleiman 2007) Schnewly / Dolz (2004), Antunes (2003), and other researchers in the study area. The results show that a language teaching that praises the oral debate of topics of interest of the student and the production of oral texts in communicative situations that surpass those proposed by the didactic book, allows the student to extend the domain of oral verbal language as well how to recognize himself as an active subject in the process of constructing his discourse.
