Resumo: Natural resources are extremely important for human survival, however, it has become increasingly common to find degraded spaces, because with the improvement of technique, anthropic actions have become latent in the environment. To the detriment of this, several problems of an environmental nature have emerged in recent decades, which can be mitigated through education. From this context, this research aims to analyze the environmental impacts arising from red ceramics in the community of Povoado Poxica in Itabaianinha - SE. The present research made use of the philosophical and theoretical approaches of the historical and dialectical materialism research method. However, for the characterization and analysis of the environment, it was supported by the structure of the GTP, that is, Geosystem, Territory and Landscape, proposed by Bertrand (1971), which seeks to analyze the environment in a systemic way, taking into account the consolidated physical and anthropogenic aspects in geographic space. Associated with the GTP, the documentary and bibliographic research techniques were divided into two stages: the first being indirect documentary research, concentrating on bibliographic research. The second moment is considered as direct documentary research, directed to the field stage in which technical visits were carried out in loco, during the period of 2019 that precedes the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming at collecting data to support the characterization of the area of study, in order to verify the existing social and environmental impacts in the study area. It was found that the environmental impacts generated by red ceramics have been triggering considerable degradation to the environment, compromising the lifestyle of individuals living in the surroundings of this area. The practice of turning off the ceramic filters, as well as the unsustainable extraction of clay, are one of the problems that incisively affect the local population. In view of this reality, it is necessary to develop measures with an interventionist character that will mitigate this scenario, thus, we sought to build a didactic guide so that it can be worked in communities, especially those living in mining areas, with a view to that education is the way to build new paradigms that lead to the expansion of actions with parameters that meet the implementation of environmental education.
