Resumo: |
This work analyzed five mortuary depositions, whose most recent dating was of 4,390 ± 30 BP, all rescued from Layer B, at Sítio Justino, Canindé - São Francisco – Sergipe. Although there are several studies in Bioarchaeology with this collection, it was noticed an aspect that had not been worked out yet and that we judge to be of great importance: the taphonomy. Thus, the main objective of this research was to analyze the taphonomic aspects of the chosen sample. As specific objectives, we seek to assess the degree of osteological preservation and there was signs of paleopatologies or violence. The results of this study demonstrate the implications of taphonomic aspects in archaeological research and the limitations imposed by them in Bioarchaeology. |
