Resumo: |
Dyslipidemia are changes in the metabolism of lipids that trigger changes in the concentrations of plasma lipoproteins, favoring the development of chronic degenerative diseases. Epidemiological studies demonstrate that these are associated with cardiovascular diseases, representing the leading cause of death among adults. The lipid profile is considered an important predictor of risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD ), being an important tool in the planning of more effective public health policies. It can be obtained by judicious use database, such as lipidogramas performed in clinical laboratories. High triglycerides rates (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL -c) increase the chances of developing CVD. His literature review become in an article a systematic review. This research aimed to evaluate the association between the amount of lipid profile parameters gender and age group in the population of a city in Brazil. It is a descriptive, epidemiological, retrospective and longitudinal study, based on data collected in the 2003-2013 period, in a laboratory in Aracaju city, Sergipe. Sample surveys were excluded who presented incomplete or omitted information. This research was submitted to the Ethics Committee of the institution and had the consent of the laboratory coordinator where it was developed. The lipid profile was determined using the following markers: CT; High density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C); LDL-C and TG. Statistical analysis was performed by means of variance and the central tendency measures. The inference was performed by Student t-test and the p value was < 0.05. The sample was intentional, consisting of 63,396 individuals, 24,425 males and 38,971 females, mean age 42.02 ± 17.38 years. The average value of TC, HDL-C, LDL -C and TG was, respectively, 193.39 ± 43.62 mg / dl, 48.80 ± 11.24 mg / dl, 118.35 ± 36.75mg / dl and 131.28 ± 82.21mg / dl. Between genders, there were statistically significant differences between TC, HDL-C, LDL -C and TG. Regarding age, there were significant differences among the values surveyed, with a peak between 40-59 years. It might be inferred that women have higher rates of TC and LDL -c; while men have low HDL- C and high TG levels, which predisposes to the development of metabolic syndrome. |
