Resumo: The performance of a building is directly linked to the conservation of its constituent systems. For engineering structures, the facade system is responsible for the protection against climate and environmental actions, besides having aesthetic importance, and its integrity is very importante for the good performance of the building. Taking this into consideration, surely it is necessary to use predictive maintenance tools, seeking to ensure opertional safety and preservation of the life of users and people who come and go. In this scenario, the technique of infrared thermography has gained prominence for the detection of pathological manifestations in facades and other constructive elements. This research was conducted to analyze the development of reliable methodologies for the application of the thermographic technique in the analysis of ceremic cladding facades of the University Hospital of Sergipe – UFS/EBSERH (HU). The influences of several laboratory controlled factors on the sensitivity of the thermographic techinique were analyzed. In the end, the methodology developed was successfully applied to the faced of the HU Hospital Annex Building, providing better evidence on the location and extent of pathological manifestations of the ceramic coating detachment type.
