Resumo: Changes in body composition in adolescents, low weight and excess, are important public health issues that deserve attention of society, brings with it various morbidities and a high lethality to human health. To prevent and combat these changes it is necessary to diagnose the profile studies of body composition between and within populations. The aim of this study was to identify the current body composition profile of adolescent students in public education federal state of Roraima between fourteen and twenty-one years old. For this we measured the body mass index (BMI), waist circumference and lifestyle of this sample. So were collected in four of the five federal institutions teaching Roraima. Data analysis was done by SPSS software, which were estimated multiple bivariate correlations, Pearson's correlations and ANOVA. Through these statistical resources were estimated prevalence, incidence, variance and differences between means found, adopting statistical significance at p <0.05 and p <0.01. The mean BMI of 21.7 was found, which is characterized as normal. Waist circumference was 70.59 Average also characterized as normal. Already the risk waist hip resulted in average index 0.86, which represents a high risk for the development of chronic diseases. On the lifestyle of the sample identified inadequate daily practices, which may contribute to changes in body composition of this sample. The analysis shows that there is no higher mean BMI and WC, however it is a sample of apparently healthy but with trends unsuitable for your lifestyle.
