This research entitled public security analysis in the city of Boa Vista-RR is focused on the issue of public security policies. It sought to systematize research results on the functioning of public security policies in the municipality of Boa Vista-RR, from 2007 to 2016. Social rights and the effectiveness of public policies, public security policies or public policies are discussed. security, identification of public security policies developed in Boa Vista-RR. The methodology is based on the collection of documentary data from public institutions and interviews with public policy participants. The construction of data on institutions and detection of the construction of public policies, interviews were conducted with the responsible and / or representative of the municipal security organs, as well as municipal social management bodies. Contact with participants took place through informal conversations. In addition, in order to investigate results on public safety policies, interviews were conducted with participants of the projects conceived by the municipality, specifically with at least one participant from each identified project. The contact happened through informal conversations. The criterion for inclusion in the group of participants was to participate in the project and have a participation time equal to or greater than one year. The data collection through the interviews was guided by a semi-structured script containing questions that focused on the experiences associated with the participation of the project members. As regards the executive bodies, the issues focused on the implementation and results of public security policies. The results involved the development of qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and bibliographic research. It was concluded that the public policies implemented in the municipality of Boa Vista to reduce urban violence have positive impacts, as observed in the interviews with the project participants (Crescer, Maria da Penha, Maria goes to school and Artcanto) and the program Green Finger. However, the need to expand these policies has been verified, since the number of participants has remained the same since its implementation. It still requires that society be engaged in this process, whether establishing partnerships with social projects or in the monitoring of resources.
