The celebration "The Maranhão is Here!" is held from 2010, in the month of June in homage to Saint John, and has its characteristics based on Maranhão’s popular culture and tradition. Our research is based largely on the reports of migrants that tell how the process of migration to the state of Roraima occurred, also highlighting the organization of the celebration, stating the goals they wish to achieve with it. We also point the process of self-assertion of the Maranhense identity that occurs with the accomplishment of events and how it can become an appropriate symbolic territorial form, through the process of reterritorialization. We look for everything in the history and tradition of Maranhão to give an overview of how these Maranhenses sought cultural and identity support for organizing the party. Therefore, our work will search, through the use of the memories of the migrants, standing out for the use of the recording memory, where the migrants make the transmission of their memories and their traditions, through this we seek to understand the process that involves this identity and how it is consolidated in the construction of the Maranhão identity in the city of Boa Vista / RR and a mark of symbolic territorialization by them. We also use these sources to understand how the culture, religion and cuisine are present at the celebration and what are the impacts and transformations that happen in the city of Boa Vista when the elements are exposed and how these migrants see themselves in the celebration.
