The emergence of new technologies and changes in demands regarding the way to consume software services, especially with regard to the emergence of technologies that are sheltered under the umbrella of what is conventionally called computational clouds, reinforce the need to rethink forms of construction, identify limits and consider new possibilities. What is proposed in this document is the identification of a limit inherent in the current methodologies and a proposition on how to overcome it with the Metadata Interpretation Driven Development methodology. In this sense, its contribution lies in offering a methodology to develop business domain independent software systems. For this, we discuss its application in specific cases presenting the results in terms of computational performance and cost of code evolution.
