Resumo: | There have been conducted characterization, strength and consolidation tests in soft clay deposits at the Airport of Macaé/RJ in order to obtain geotechnical parameters for design. Sample quality was assessed using brass and reinforced PVC open tube samplers. Results have been compared through oedometer test and reinforced PVC sampler has been considered reliable on sample quality. Other comparison has been made, in order to verify differences during the oedometer test using conventional destiled water as the spiecimen flooding fluid and using water from the borehole itself. Nine samples were withdrawn along the deposit depth to plot the end of secondary curve within the effective vertical stress range analyzed. Also, triaxial tests (UU, CIU and CAU) were conducted in order to achieve strength parameters. Besides laboratory tests, field tests have been performed as vane test, CPTu with 2 porous stones (u1 and u2). At least, with the test outcomes it has been possible to foresee geotechnical parameters through undrained shear strength, OCR, rigidity index and compression rates. |
