Resumo: | Describes the design of a compensator to the effects produced by an electric arc furnace. A flywheel composed by a squirrel cage induction machine is proposed to make the active power smoothing possible. The applicability of the dual inverter topology to the flywheel control is studied. The compensation strategy and the converters control is based on the p-q Theory. In order to investigate the compensator behavior, a real data based simulation was performed. The real case is the Cosigua steel mill, connected to the subtransmission system of the electric energy company Light SESA. The PSCAD software was chosen to run the simulations, where the Cosigua was modelled based on data provided by its technical team. Voltage and current measurements of the line that feeds the steel mill was taken on the Light substation, which has also provided electrical and mechanical data of the mentioned line. |
