Resumo: Study of the resulthing phenomena of the propagation of tides in Inland channels, which are in close communication with a reservoir. The passage of the ocean tidal wave in front of the mouth of a channel, sets up therein a wave, which is propagated into the channel. Three theories are presented to study this phenomenon: 1- The propagated wave is considered a wave of translation, and this propagation obeys the well known laws. The problem is dealth with by considering the expenditure of the wave energy, by friction within the limits of the channel; 2- The equations of continuity and motion of longwaves were taken into consideration in this case. The solution of these equations is treated with explicite finite-difference method; 3- The equations of long waves are solved with implicit finite-difference method. The velocity and the height for the channel of Laguna's for are calculated according each one of these theories. The results were checked those, previously observed, at the same place. If we take into consideration the good results presented by both theories (1 and 2), we conclude that they can be successifuly applied on the simulation of the velocity and height in the channel, under identycal conditions we have in the problem, here discussed.
