Resumo: | In this work the suspension of an automobile car is investigated for the possibility of improving its dynamics by the addition of an active element. The system is simulated by idealized masses, springs and dashpots. The proposed active compQ nent is visualized as a servo mechanism ora force transducer which recieves one of the variables of the system as an input and yields a control signal according to a prescribed law. The latter is fed back to the system in a specific manner. In this investigation, the input to the active element, is taken as the acceleration of the primary dynamics has to be improved. This choice is feasible mass whose because of the ease with which such a variable can be measured in an actual system. Control signals obeying other laws are also possible but they are not covered here. The proposed control law affects the system increasing the sprung mass in an apparent way, decreasing in this manner its natural frequency and damping ratio. This carries out an improvement of the behaviour of the system under external disturbances. The results of this investigation show a noticeable improvement on the amplitud of Jerk in the arder of 70% with a careful selection of some of the parameters. |
