Resumo: | The geomorphology of Niterói’s municipality is characterized by the presence of smooth gradients and rounded tops. The soil have origin in gneiss rocks, which passed through great weathering, however still have reliquiae structures. Reliquiae stratums are thin, about one inch, and have several resistances and deformabilities. Some of them are much less resistant than others. In some cases, the layer’s inclinations are unfavorable against the excavation and had important influence on behavior of the soil’s cut. This work reunited and resumed several cases of building works in the region with problems like great deformations and loads in structures. Computational models were generated to evaluate the behavior of these slopes. Constitutive models for soils must consider the variation of deformability due to confining tension and the natural anisotropy. The reliquiae layers had great influence on behavior and commanded the potential slope’s collapse and de load of the structures, in the cases where the orientation were unfavorable to excavation. |
