Resumo: | The present study analyzes the impact of the liquid fuels road sector chain in Brazil on the socioeconomic and physical system in which they are inserted. The following energy systems are studied: petroleum (gasoline and diesel), sugarcane biomass (anhydrous and hydrated ethanol) and soybean biomass (biodiesel), for four distinct stages of the chain: i) exploration / production primary energy sources; (ii) transport of primary energy sources to processing centers; (iii) production of liquid road fuels; iv) transport of liquid fuels. The analysis of the study is based on a multi-integrated approach - MUSIASEM (Multi-Scale Integrated Analysis of Societal and Ecosystem Metabolism), which relies on the principles of Georgescu-Rogen’s bioeconomic theory, which proposes an analysis of the systems through elements called funds (land, labor and productive capacity) and flows (energy and water). Thus, the study proposes a systemic view of the impact of road fuels, in which the whole chain of the productive cycle of fossil fuels and biofuels is analyzed and compared to the elements of funds and flows. |
